Example:
Find a suitable compound gear set, which consist of 4 gears, from the given gear set, to satisfy the given ratio.
Given gear Set = 24, 24, 28, 32, 40, 44, 48, 56, 64, 72, 86, 100
Required Ratio = 2.410 |

Why ...
Normally you faced to this problem when working on a Milling machine or Lathe machine.
To cut a Gear wheel or a Thread it must satisfy some speed ratio in between the work and the tool.

Use CalRatio, Save your time
I am sure you can save 99% of time using CalRatio to select the suitable gear set.
|
The conventional way to solve this problem:
1. Select a four gear set arbitrary and calculate the Ratio.
2. If it is not satisfy, get the idea of Error Percentage.
3. Change one of suitable gear and calculate the Ratio again.
4. Follow step 2 & 3 until you will satisfy the Ratio.
# In this case you might repeat step 4 many times, it may be 100.
# By introducing CalRatio you can save that time.
# You can find the given gear set very quickly and accurately.
But there may be situations, which cannot get the given Ratio correctly.
At that time CalRatio will give you to sets of gears.
Suitable Plus Value, which is just more than the Ratio.
Suitable Minus Value, which is just less than the Ratio.
In that case you can select one from above two sets.

Notations:
Element (i) = number of teeth of the gear (i).
Error% = error percentage between required Ratio and calculated ratio.
Number of Elements = number of gears in the gear set.
Order = the order how arranged the selected four gears.
Ratio = the gear ratio which is to calculate.
Suitable Plus Value = the nearest value just more than the Ratio which can get.
Suitable Minus Value = the nearest value just less than the Ratio which can get. |
